I NEVER leave reviews but I have to. After TPLO surgery my dog was not having it. Chewed off the cast. Chewed off stitches and staples. I would wrap her leg and she would again chew it off. Luckily she healed very nicely even after all the issues we had. However, there was one small spot next to where her incision was that she started licking until it became one large hot spot. On top of that she developed diabetes making it that much harder to heal. I again could not keep her off of it. I gave the lick sleeve a try and I truly could not believe how much she enjoyed it. It did not bother her one bit. She sleeps in it and leaves it on all day while I’m at work. Granted she’s older, but she’s still that same hard headed puppy. I’m so happy she likes it and it’s comfortable enough for her to keep it on all day and night. I tried the cheap sleeve from Amazon but this is the only sleeve I’d recommend to anyone. Thank you lick sleeve!
KATE W.
Great product, definitely better than the cone!
Susannah B.
Fits perfectly! Shipped fast and arrived just in time for CCL surgery.
Diane K.
I wasn’t able to use as the vet was worried about area becoming infected, otherwise great concept.
Lesli W.
So relieved we didn’t have to use the cone of shame! She cried the whole time we had the cone on her which lasted only 30 minutes . The lick sleeve is comfortable and she has not messed with her incision. i couldnt be happier with my purchase. Game changer for post op care !
Margaret B.
The lick sleeve is too short for a greyhound leg...it needs to be about 3" longer. So, it's only working partially.
April J.
Great quality but a waste of money for me. Just fell off my French bulldog. Tried small and x-small neither worked
Lisa W.
I’m incredibly thankful for this product—it’s taken away so much post-surgery stress. My dog can rest comfortably right away, which has made all the difference. I opted for overnight shipping, and it was absolutely worth it. The package arrived at my doorstep just as I pulled into the driveway with my dog after her TPLO surgery. Perfect timing! Thank you!
Sara M.
So easy to use, no need for come of shame. Makes
for a much happier, more comfortable recovery.
Karen Noack C.
Easy to put on, stays in place, my dog doesn't object to it in the least.
Jaime L.
Overall a very good tool for dog recovering from TTA/TPLO surgery. It’s gets a little loose after a few days so maybe buy two (or lick sleeve offer a BOGO)
Leslie B.
Great tool after surgery.
Joel B.
When it works it's much better than a cone but it tends to slip off after a couple hours as our dog adjusts her position. Tightening hasn't helped. Someone needs to be watching her at all times and adjusting the lick sleeves position whenever necessary.
Cesare B.
Product was great had tried few others but this was most comfortable for our pup and very easy to put on and off

We bought two lick sleeves for our 10 yr old black lab who had had two ACL surgeries, one year apart. Unfortunately, one of his knees he keeps licking at and has created a callous that he will bite and lick on until it bleeds. The lick sleeve is the only effective and easiest way we have found to keep him from doing this and allowing it to heal. We bought two so we could wash one and always have a clean one on him when needed, and he doesn’t mind it. Looks like he’s wearing pajama pants on one leg!
Robin M.
My dog had TPLO surgery and this sleeve worked well. It protected his surgery site and was able to have him recover without having to use a cone.
Michael D.
The lick sleeve does it's job...keeps our dog from licking her wound. Maybe consider a second one to wear while cleaning and drying the other. Something we didn't think of, however, after we figured it out, we were not on board with spending another $100 for a back-up.
Siobhan B.
Lola was licking her stitches are the entire area was red and not looking good. Problem solved and she seems to be comfortable.

Following Rue's TPLO surgery as she walked out with the cone of shame, I knew she would feel way better and have more freedom and less anxiety once we placed the Lick Sleeve on her. It's on her now, and she can go potty without have to remove it and it doesn't seem to bother her at all while protecting her fresh wound. Highly Recommended!
Janis S.
Lick sleeve is a good product. It has protected my lab’s incision following surgery for a torn ACL on her rear leg.
Shannon P.
So much better than having to try to keep her in a cone!! She's been able to relax and heal and hasn't been bothered a bit by her pant leg! It's so great that is reversible too since she'll have to have surgery on her other leg too.
Carole E.
Definitely works.., little hard to keep on a dog with only one hind leg. We figured a way though. This is a lifesaver.
Jeannine M.
From website fitting and ordering to unfortunately the return everything was smooth and easy. Quality of lick sleeve was very nice and material was soft. I so wanted this to work, but unfortunately my male dog did not like the strap around his lower midsection at all. He is a 10 year old thick headed boxer.

Lick sleeve was a saver for us as our dog just whined constantly with the collar. As soon as we put on the Lick Sleeve, she settled down. Our dog was right at the weight border of size changes between Sm & Med, but I chose the Sm size as she has a skinny backend being part dachshund. It was tight when we first put it on, and actually slid off the first night. However, by the second day it sat snuggly and comfortably. This is the fifth day she is wearing it with no problems. Our dog is not a big licker, so we did not have any moisture problems, nor does she try to chew or pull on it. The sleeve just protects the wound and keeps her from cleaning the wound. It was a perfect solution. Excellent product and well made.
John S.
we use then post operatively at our clinic and they work well
Terri M.
The lick sleeve has been great for our dog after TPLO surgery. She freaks out with the cone, so this is a great alternative. It is comfortable and easy to use. Her incision is healing wonderfully!
Bobbie T.
Thank you for providing this relief from the cone. Our dog doesn't even care that its on.
Wes G.
I purchased this product based upon advice from my dogs doctor and friends. He is scheduled for ACL surgery on March 18, so I have not used it as yet. I plan on bringing it with him when he has surgery and to use it during his healing process.
Diane M.
Lick sleeve is better than a cone but it is hard to keep on the dog because it slides off.
Lisa H.
A total game changer from the “cone of shame”. It has helped our dog be so much more comfortable following her TPLO surgery. Highly recommend !
Lynette B.
It seems to fit w ll,however, my dog's surgery has not yet occurred, so I can't give it a fair rating at this time.
Jenny P.
The licksleeve saved my sanity after my dog had knee surgery. She hated the cone and wouldn’t rest when wearing it. The licksleeve worked great for us!
Renee M.
My dog recently had CCL surgery. My vet sent us home with a Lick Sleeve. I liked it so much, I ordered another one from your website. Washes very easily. Stretchable and breathable material!
John C.
Great idea, but have had limited success. Our dog licks the outside of the sleeve and it seeps through to her cut slowing the healing process. It has also fallen down multiple times. After our dog rolls around on the ground for a bit. The simplicity of the product is great. The high price for this product does increase my expectations of it.
Tonya B.
Very well made product. The wrap and closure system is ingenious and my dog tolerates it very well.
Kimberly B.
There are a lot of things to love about the lick sleeve. The fast shipping is at the top of my list!
I also love the design. I've spent way too much money on surgery suits trying to get my boy to leave his knee alone after surgery. My male has been able to undress himself from all other surgery suits. This is the only one he cannot get out of.
The only con is that he licks the lick sleeve and the moisture penetrates the lick sleeve causing irritation. I also don't feel like the suit breathes as well as it should to allow good healing.
That said, I've layered the lick sleeve over another surgery suits, so he can't undress himself and he is now actually starting to heal fully.
Brett H.
Fits great, stays on. Can leave him unsupervised and not worry about it falling off or him getting tangled.
Paul B.
At first I thought I had ordered the wrong side! Then I realized, turn it in side out! But for that first moment my heart sank and I thought I was in for a disaster.
It have been great so far.
Julie P.
Too easy for dog to remove. Stretches within a day of use.
Harry H.
Lucy has her operation this coming Thursday. I’ll let you know after I use it when the surgery is done and she is home. So far it fits very well and seems well made
Jeanette H.
The sleeve is amazing! It keeps her leg safe while it heals and she doesn’t have to wear a cone. She doesn’t seem to mind having the sleeve on and it is easy to put on and take off. I am so glad we have this option!
Jenny G.
We are very happy with the Lick Sleeve! It is easy to put on which makes the recovery process a little easier. Thank you!
Cori R.
Ordered the Licksleeve for my dog after his TPLO surgery. I wanted to avoid having him wear a cone for two weeks and this was perfect! He wears it without a problem and doesn’t mess with it at all. I also love that it’s reversible in case he eventually needs his other knee done in the future. Another bonus for us was that we could cut the length for his short legs and it completely stays intact and doesn’t unravel. Wonderful product and worth the price!
Mary R.
There are few leg recovery sleeves that fit a small breed appropriately. We have a 10 lb. Bichon Frise having a lateral suture procedure for a torn ACL. We tried a number of other products prior to her surgery and Lick Sleeve was obviously the BEST in every way. Well worth the price and will help to reduce or eliminate wearing a cone collar for a long recovery.
Judy G.
It doesn’t stay on very good
Cassie E.
I'm so glad I ended up buying a lick sleeve. I was super hesitant because of the cost but now I know it's 100% worth it and I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a sleeve cover for their pup's back leg!
Laura C.
It succeeded in keeping my working line German Shepherd from pulling out his staples after an acl repair. 10/10 recommend!
Harmon R.
Great product, definitely helps protect
Lisa C.
It is too big for Sookie. She has been wearing it before her surgery to get used to it but she need a medium instead of a large. Can we exchange it?
Joel D.
One word, STELLAR ! Wonderful Product, unfortunately unable to use due to surgery being canceled, but I can mention they have excellent and professional customer service, they have a very quick response to your needs and a very warm and caring attitude to you and your dogs needs. Thank you Lick Team

Excellent response and shipping time

Our 5 yr old pup had ptlo surgery (human ACL) 2 weeks ago and to avoid contamination of the wound and decrease the chances of her licking the area - we used this shield - our other option was the " head cone". We were so pleased - she left the area alone and it had snowed here - so the "water resistance " was also appreciated. We can recommend this sleeve and were so glad it was available.
Patricia H.
This is awesome!
Todd K.
Way better than a cone!
Mike V.
Our dog, Oliver, recently had TPLO surgery, and we knew right away that the cone was just not going to work for him. We found the Lick Sleeve, ordered it, and had it overnighted. The communication throughout the process was fantastic!
The Lick Sleeve is worth every penny. Not only does it protect his surgical site, but he's noticeably calmer with it on than when we take it off. It’s been a lifesaver, allowing us to get some sleep, knowing he’s not licking at his wound.
As you can tell, we're so pleased with this product. If your dog is recovering from surgery or has any kind of wound, do yourself a favor and get the Lick Sleeve. 100% worth it!
William P.
Did not like paying for 2 day shipping that took 4 days to get to us
Eleanor G.
This product fundamentally didn't work. The two main issues:
1. it didn't stay on my dog. The sleeve slipped off his back as soon as he curled up to sleep. I tried to tighten it but still no luck.
2. male dogs cannot pee while wearing it. which is mystifying.
Melany W.
The lick sleeve really helped my pup to recover from her ACL surgery. She could comfortably rest and recover while wearing it.
Marci P.
Amazing for my dog after his knee surgery.
Wanda P.
The Lick Sleeve saved me from constantly watching my girl to make sure she wasn’t licking her leg. She is a beagle and probably not the best candidate for the Lick Sleeve. Her little short legs made it difficult to fit proper. I ended up cutting about half of the leg off . Don’t get me wrong it worked but she could still get out of it if she laid on her back and twisted.
Marilyn C.
We purchased this for our dog for her ACL surgery. She hates wearing a cone and I was hopeful this would allow her the opportunity to be without a cone for the 2 weeks post surgery and it was great!! We took it with us to the vet when we picked her up and they put it on her. Would highly recommend this product. Great investment!!
Stacie D.
The Lick Sleeve is absolutely perfect for knee surgery recovery. Fits just right, material is soft and comfortable and it doesn’t get in the way of bathroom activities. It’s a game changer and allows your dog to recover comfortably and stress free!!
Jennifer R.
Ordered the wrong size and needed to exchange it…the process was very easy…new one was shipped out immediately, no waiting. Thanks!
Lois H.
My sweet boy had surgery, left stifle joint, for a torn ACL. He's 2 weeks post-op and has ignored the surgical site when the lick sleeve is on. I take it off when he has to go outside for potty breaks. It's easy to remove and put on, easy to adjust, easy to launder - dries in about an hour. I'm really glad the vet used it, and I bought a 2nd one "just in case. "
Andrea Z.
Lick sleeve worked like a charm to keep my dog away from the incision and protected from cold. I recommend removing the sleeve, once incision is safely sealed, so that the dog can sniff and briefly lick and not be frustrated by it, from time to time.
Rene G.
After surgery comfortable. Awesome
Megan H.
The lick sleeve worked great at keeping my dog from licking the tumor on his leg. It kept him a lot more comfortable and stopped his tumor from bleeding as much during his last days.
Dani C.
We bought this one as a back up as our dog had ptlo surgery & was sent home post-op with lick sleeve. Such a great protective device ! She has not tried to lick her wound which saves us all from having to use the “head cone”! Easy to put on & appears quite comfortable too! Definitely recommend!
Chanda N.
These lick sleeves have been working great for post-operative wounds as well as hunting dog lacerations on the forelimbs / chest area. It' would be really neat if they came up with an actual forelimb option that served as a chest/forelimb protector for hunting dogs! The material is light and breathable and the dogs don't seem to mind it.
MICHAEL W.
Much better than the dreaded collar and does the job. Would love to five stars, but it still needs some work for male dogs. With my boxer, it kept getting moved around his twanger and caused some irritation. Still, a vast improvement over previous methods. Keep working on the design.
Debbie N.
It is great to help stopping our dog from licking his incision, my only complaint is that it slides off.
DONNA O.
This worked great for us! My boy didn't even need to use the cone (so far on day 5 PO). It washes well and stays on for the most part. Much better than the other one that I bought. It's a little pricey, but worth it for us.
Gina Y.
As you can see Roo is wearing the Lick sleeve up front. She's gotten in the habit at 11 years old to lick her inner arm to the point of a wound that became challenging to heal due to her taking /eating the vet wrap that I wrapped it with! Typical ACD❣️ anyway, moving on to no bandage and an E collar bc we were lucky enough she passed the bandages she ate! Well, other issues occurred with that, mainly the doggy door lol. Searched around and found the answer or solution i was looking for, you guys! The Lick Sleeve is a great idea, strong, well made, she tugs at the end here and there and licks the sleeve at times but the wound is almost all healed and it's still protecting her skin! Awesome job guys thanks again! Definitely recommended for multiple situations ❣️
Jaime K.
Bought a different one to begin with from a different company. It was a big no. So glad we invested in this one. Great quality, super comfy, fits properly with no gapping. Incision fully covered.
kerryanne m.
Works great! Easy on, easy off.
Gary L.
I love the fact that my girl doesn’t have to wear a cone.
Kimberly
Our 171 pound Great Dane just had TPLO surgery a week ago and the lick sleeve has made such a big difference.. he won’t wear the biggest cone but doesn’t mind the sleeve . Would definitely recommend.
Scott S.
The only positive is the material. Compared to others I had to buy that are a thicker neoprene, it's lighter and a little more breathable.
Issue is when he pees. He may not pee on it when I have it unwrapped and using it as a support handle, but when he's done and I rewrap, it's near impossible to not get pee on it. I even resorted to carrying a tissue and patting him dry. Still, there's a little dribble on it.
Very disappointed for the cost. I was thrilled there is finally an answer to the cone, but this still has some major flaws.
Joann F.
Making all the difference in Pips recovery. We use it during the day & cone at night per vets recommendation. Licksleeve has made our days stress free.
Mark H.
Great products and customer service!
Laura L.
My little guy has been just fine having this sleeve on him. No problem at all!
The only issue I have with it is for boy dogs it is hard to move it where they don't pee pee on it. It's in the wash right now because it smells!
Thanks for coming up with this though. It has helped a lot!
Annette
Worked out perfect and our dog tolerated it well.
patty m.
This lick sleeve is our 2nd one. And we love it . We were so bummed that we couldn’t fine our 1st one and when my grandpup had a TPLO done we knew we needed to order another one. The best breathable sleeve for a dog and save them from the Cone of Dread! Thank you lick sleeve for making such a wonderful product.
Scott S.
What's to say? You essentially made me pay an insurance premium in case I didn't like it.
Rob L.
Shipping time is way to long
Maybe if it was sold on Amazon and available the next day but you cannot wait five days as we had to
Or if it was available directly from the vet or a local pet store
David S.
My only issue is the cost. it fit and works well on our dog
Angela J.
Our boxer had a TPLO we used this amazing invention post op! First thing we did was put it on when we got home. She didn’t mind it at all, the fabric is soft and fit is comfy. She didn’t require a cone because the sleeve keeps the incision hidden, such a relief! I also felt it kept the incision clean & provided the perfect barrier for icing the leg. Highly recommend!
Leslie S.
It’s effective. At first it kept slipping off. Then I used a safety pin to tighten up the back part. Maybe if there was a Velcro strip it would be a better product. Overall I’m happy I bought it.
Stephanie B.
Highly recommend! It has made the healing process much more tolerable!
Sheilla B.
Works great easy to adjust
Carolyn W.
The Lick Sleeve is absolutely amazing replacement for the E-collar. My dog would have never handled the collar. With the sleeve he doesn’t realize it is there preventing him from his incision.
The company itself is also amazing. My veterinarian had put too small of a sleeve on my dog so in calling the company I was able to purchase an xtra large size, cheaper than what the veterinarian had charged me and I received it in 2 days.
Fabulous invention, great company.
Well worth the money.
Calling the Lick Sleeve company was the best thing I have could have done.
Libda K.
We love this product. A bit expensive and could use more thigh coverage, but overall a great idea and better for the dog then cone.
Jeanmarie B.
Response is very quick!! They are on top getting what I need pronto!! Great company and staff to work with!
Victoria A.
Just home from having CCL repair surgery. The Lick Sleeve is used in place of a hard plastic cone / e-collar. So happy my pup can recover comfortably, all thanks to her new Lick Sleeve post-op. Vet Techs put it on her before leaving the surgical facility.
Laura L.
The medium fits my little guy perfectly!
The only thing is the penis. haha. I just moved it a little further back so he could go without me moving it every time. No problem there either!
He doesn't love it & def doesn't want it on his leg, but it's a great alternative to the cone for sure.
Thank you for making this product!
Sheryl
My golden retriever has allergies and licks his legs excessively to the point of creating hotspots. We tried sprays, wrapping and allergy shots but nothing worked. Out of desperation I started looking for some kind of sleeve. I saw lots of cheaper versions but the Lick Sleeve had far better reviews and looked like it would be more comfortable. It turned out to be one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. My golden doesn’t mind it at all and when he starts licking a spot on one of his legs we just slip it on and he can no longer get to it. He’s a farm dog and has worn it outside and gotten it dirty but it easily machine washes and line dries. We know from experience that it works great on both front snd rear legs. This is actually our 2nd Lick Sleeve, we wanted to have a spare while the other one is drying.
Delilah A.
I think the LickSleeve is a great idea if only my dog wasn’t a chewer. He is part Lab so I still have to leave the cone on when I am not around as he is constantly trying to get the LickSleeve off. He is a crafty one for sure.
Thanks for a great product.
